Provide day-to-day support related to the performance measurement and client reporting needs of BMO Private Wealth.

Scope/Responsibilities:
  • Act as a key point of contact for support professionals and investment professionals relating to performance measurement and client reporting inquires.
  • Investigate performance measurement anomalies and other client reporting issues; and develop and recommend solutions to resolve them in an efficient, effective and compliant manner.
  • Monitor, review and analyze performance measurement exception reports, identify any performance anomalies and resolve exceptions proactively.
  • Investigate and resolve complex operational issues regarding performance measurement and client reporting independently or by working effectively with representatives from other internal departments in an efficient manner.
  • Partner with the Product Owner, Client Reporting to maintain a backlog of performance measurement and client reporting issues, providing line of sight into reporting inquiries to inform long-term sustainable solutions.
  • Participate in small to medium size projects relating to performance measurement and client reporting.
  • Provide input to performance measurement and client reporting technology requirements where required.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing.
  • Document and maintain operational procedures and processes relating to performance measurement and client reporting.
  • Be accountable for the completion of other regular and ad-hoc responsibilities as defined by the manager.

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study (Business/Commerce, Finance, or Economics).
  • Typically, between 3 to 5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Completion or enrollment in the CFA, CIPM or CIM program is preferred. Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course.
  • Knowledge of investment performance measurement including methodologies, systems and regulatory/industry standards.
  • Knowledge of investment management client reporting and related financial concepts, data points and metrics.
  • Knowledge of investment management systems, operations and securities transaction processing (e.g. strong understanding of the Book of Record system, flow of transactions, etc.).
  • Broad knowledge of financial products and processes.

Skills:
  • Strong analytical and technical skills and attention to detail to deliver efficient and accurate results.
  • Organized, resourceful, efficient, accurate and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and part of a team.
  • Ability to identify the root cause of problems and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with various internal stakeholders and client facing professionals. For the latter, advanced ability to translate technical and performance measurement concepts into client-friendly explanations.
  • Persistence and curiosity: ability to peel back many layers to identify the root cause of the performance or other reporting anomaly.
  • Understanding of databases and data analytics.
Salary :

$54,500.00 - $101,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
